අල්ලස සහ දූෂනය
රථවාහන පොලිස් නිළධාරීන් දැන් ටික කාලෙක ඉඳලා සෑහෙන්න කාර්යක්ෂම වෙලා. පාරේ යනකොට මොනයම් හෝ වැරැද්දක් කරනවාද? කියලා එයාලා ඇහැ ගහ ගෙනමයි ඉන්නේ. මේ නිසා දැන් අපිත් පාරේ යන්නේ හරි පරිස්සමෙන්. ඒ ඇක්සිඩන්ට් වෙන එකෙන් බේරෙන්න නෙමෙයි. මේ පගා මස්ථාන්ලාට පගා දෙන්න සිදුවන එකෙන් බේරෙන්නයි.
කවුරුත් දැක්කද දන්නැහැ
සාමාන්යයෙන් අපේ රටේ බොහෝ ට්රැෆික් රාළහාමිලා කටයුතු කරන්නේ ජාතීන් අනුව වර්ගීකරණයක් කරලයි. ඒ ගමන මෙයා මොකක්ද කියන්න යන හරුපේ? කියා දැන් ඔබලාත් කලබල වෙලා ඇති. මා එසේ පවසන්නේ මේ වන විට අපේ ට්රැෆික් රාළහාමිලාගෙන් බහුතරය පගා ගන්නට සුරක්ෂිතම ජනකොටස මුස්ලිම් අය කියා තේරුම් ගෙන ඇති බැවිනි. ඒ නිසා ඔවුන් මුස්ලිම් කෙනෙක් අසුවුවහොත් පගා ඉල්ලති. ඔවුන් සිංහල අයගෙන් අල්ලස් නොගන්නේ ඔවුන් අතර සිට අල්ලස් නිළධාරීන්ට අල්ලස් ගන්නාවු අය හඳුණාගත හැකි නිසාවෙනි. මට මේක හොඳටම මාට්ටු වුනේ මා මුස්ලිම් පෙනුමක් ඇති සිංහල කෙනෙක් නිසයි. මා හට මේ ගැන පුද්ගලික අත්දැකීම් රැසක් ඇත.
සාමාන්යයෙන් මේ රාළහාමිලාට සිංහල කෙනෙක් අසුවුවහොත්, එම සිංහල කෙනා බැගෑපත් වු විට නඩුවක් දමන වරදක් වුව එය දඩයකට පෙරලෙන්නට වරද ලියා පිටත් කර හරිති. නමුත් මුස්ලිම් කෙනෙක් අසුවුවහොත් වැඩේ බරපතලය. පලමුව, මේක නඩු දාන්න වරදක්! කියමින් ඒ මුස්ලිම් කෙනාව බය කරති. අනේ! අපේ මුස්ලිම් වරයාද කුමණ වරදට නඩු දාන්නේද? කුමණ වරදට දඩ ගසන්නේද? යැයි නොදනිති. දඩයක් ගෙවා බේරෙන්නට ඔහුද කැමති මුත් මේ රාළහාමි එයට නඩුවක්ම දාන්නට හදන බැවින් ඊලඟට ඔහු පින්සෙන්ඩු වෙන්නේ කීයක් හරි අරගෙන මෙය Shape කරදෙන ලෙසයි. අනේ ඊලඟට අපේ පොලිස් රාළහාමි කථා කරන්නේ හරිම මිත්ර ලීලාවෙනි. මුස්ලිම් වරයාගෙන් පගාව ගත්තාට පසුව “ඉස්සරහ තවත් පොලීසියෙන් ඉන්නවා. බලාගෙන යන්න” කියමින් ඔවදන්ද දෙති. බායි කියමින් අතද වනති.
මේ Signal එක මොකක්ද කියන්න පුළුවන්ද?
මේ ළඟදි මටත් හරි වැඩක් වුණා. මමත් තවත් මිතුරෙකුත් ඉතා දුර ගමනක් වාහනයෙන් ගොස් පැමිණෙන විට මා ටික දුරක් රථය පදවා ඊලඟට මාරුවට අනෙක් මිතුරාට දුන්නා. ඔහු රථය පදවන විට පාරේ සුදු ඉරි කපා ගෙන ගියේ නොදැනුවත් කමින්. මෙය දුටු ඉදිරියේ සිටි ට්රැෆික් රාළහාමිලා අපව නතර කළා. පරණ පුරුදු විදිහටම, මේක නඩුවක්! කියා අපව බය කළා. දැන් රාළහාමි පගාවක් ගන්නයි ලෑස්තිය. අපේ මිතුරාත් කරන්න දෙයක් නැති නිසා දෙන්නයි හැදුවේ. හිටපු ගමන් එයාට මා ගැන සැකයක් ඇති වුණා. මහත්තයා මුස්ලිම් වුණාට හොඳට සිංහල කථා කරනවා! යැයි ඔහු මගෙන් ප්රශ්නයක් ඇසුවා. එවිට මමද මා සිංහල කෙනෙක් බව පැවසුවා. ඔහුට එය අදහා ගන්නට බැරිව මගේ හැඳුනුම් පතද පරීක්ෂා කරා. දැන් ඔහුට මගේ මිතුරාගෙන් පගාව ගන්නට බිය විය. ඒ මා වෙස් වලාගත් අල්ලස් නිළධාරියෙක් දෝ ඇති සැකය නිසාවෙනි.
තාම තොප්පි දාගන්න දන්නැති කෙනෙක්
ඉන්පසුව මා ටිකක් එහෙට මෙහෙට වනකන් සිට මගේ මිතුරාට ලයිසන් පත පගාවක් නොගෙනම භාරදුන්නේ මට නම් අරයා ගැන සැකයි කියමිනි. පසුව මගේ මිතුරාට පවසා ඇත්තේ “මහත්තයාලා වගේ නෙමෙයි අපේ එවුන්. අපේ එවුන් තමයි අපිව පාවලා දෙන්නේ” යනුවෙන් පවසා රියදුරු බලපත දඩයක්වත් නොලියාම ලබාදී ඇත. මෙහිදී ඔහු විසින් නැවත දඩකොලයකට වත් මාරු නොවුණේ ඔහු අල්ලස් ගන්නට කථාකරගත් පසුව ඒ තරමට අප හා කුළුපග වුණු බැවිනි. උණු හින්දා බොන්නත් බැහැ කිරි හින්දා අහක දාන්නත් බැරි තත්වයකට ඔහු පත්විය.
මෙයා නම් ට්රැෆික් නෙමෙයි.
දැන් බොහෝ ට්රැෆික් රාළහාමිලා මැසිවිලි නගන්නේ ඉහල නිලධාරීන් විසින් ඔවුන්ට දිනකට දඩ සහ නඩු Target එකක් ලබා දී ඇති බවයි. බොහෝ අයට දිනකට නඩු හෝ දඩ 20 කට වඩා ඉලක්ක ලැබී ඇත. ඒ අය දිනකට ලියන නඩු හෝ දඩ ප්රමාණය 10 කට අඩු වුවහොත් එදාට ඉහල නිලධාරීන්ගෙන් කුණු බැණුම් අසන්නට සිදුවේලු. මේ නිසා ඔවුන් සිංහල කෙනෙක් අසුවුවහොත් දඩ ලියති. මුස්ලිම් කෙනෙක් අසුවුවහොත් අල්ලස් ඉල්ලති. එයින් ඔවුන්ගේ දිනකට දඩ හෝ නඩු ඉලක්කයත් සම්පූර්ණ වන ගමන් දවසට අවශ්ය ගතමනාව මුස්ලිම් වරුන්ගෙන් කඩා ගත හැක. දැන් ඉතිං දවසේ ගතමනාවත් හරි. මාසේ ගතමනාවත් හරි. කොහොමද ටිකිරි මොලේ?
මා අල්ලස් නිලධාරීන්ගෙන් ඉල්ලා සිටින්නේ මුස්ලිම් කෙනෙක් ලෙස වෙස් වලාගෙන මුස්ලිම් කෙනෙක්ගේ හැඳුණුම් පතක් හෝ රියදුරු බලපත ඉල්ලාගෙන ගොස් මේ ගැන විපරම් කර බලන ලෙසය.
එමෙන්ම මේ වෙබ් අඩවිය බලන කෙනෙක්ගෙන් අප ඉල්ලා සිටින්නේ හැකි නම් නඩුවක් වෙනුවට දඩයක් සඳහා පොලීසියෙන් ලියන ලද කොලයේ ස්කෑන් පිටපතක් එවන්නේ නම් නඩු නැතිව දඩ ලැබිය හැකි වරදවල් කුමක්ද? යන්න දැන ගන්නා පිණිස එය අපට මේ වෙබ් අඩවියේ පලකල හැක.

When i insisted that i did not violate he said he has no option but to put this to courts. i said no problem if he wishes. Then he said if you admit you made a mistake i will not file any case. As I see it the problem is not person’s religion or race. The problem is most drivers nowadays have no respect for road rules. Most of them drive like they alone own the road and therefore have all the right to do whatever they want & all others should give way to them.
People from every religion is responsible for this. If you look at something biased from religious viewpoint you can find ample evidence of rule breaking from the other religions people.
Mr.Anver Manatunga – Here it is you who tries to put in religion to every problem you encounter. I have know a Muslim guy who drives his vehicle like a maniac all over the road (in full accordance with the above criteria I have stated) and get’s caught a lot by police. What he does afterwards is the more interesting thing. After a little heckling with the officers he asks how much they want to let him go free and pays out the money at once (bribe){Incidently he is very rich}. He bribes the police officers totally on purpose not because he is an innocent victim.
I gave you a example of how Muslims does it and not an innocent victim. I am also sure anyone can find many examples like this from people from every religious background.
Talking about bribes, we had a hard time in living in the city during university (In a foreign country. Those who were responsible were the Arabs who came to our university (saudi,iran,kuwait etc). These guys (for some reason there were almost no Arab women present) were very rich-they were paid between 500-1000$ monthly from their respective goverments. (we have to make do with less than 100$ per month) These Arabs had the habit of giving money to anyone who helps them whether laborer,shop attnedent,officials in hostels and university officers etc. The problem was they tend to give a huge amount of money to them (eg-giving 1000 currency of their money to a person who picked up his misplaced student card, which was less than 50$ but is a huge amount of money for the poor here). Overtime these people (the labourer’s etc) demand from us the same amount of money as they get from the Arabs for helping out. And we,other students and even poor Muslim students has to face a hard time. Once the (labourer’s etc) get to know that we don’t have much money they start cold shouldering us.
Even our teacher’s say that this situation arose only after the Arabs started to come here.
Also these rich Arabs who boast they are the best Muslims in the world and as having been to mecca several times are among the worst people here. They throw money at everything, doesn’t learn a thing, pay up huge amounts to pass exams, go to night clubs almost every day, go after prostitutes many times, indulge in heavy drinking and smoking etc But after doing all that they go to saudi for Haj and everything. I know that all Muslims are not like this. But these guys are from near 100% Muslim countries and most know the Quran very well. It just goes to show that while they strictly adhere to the Muslim code of conduct while they are in a Muslim country but once the are out of that boundaries their true self opens up. (Some have had the worst misconduct I have ever seen but they still get away because of the endless money they have)

@Muzain – I accept that what you say is true. But it isn’t because there is a problem with Buddhism. It is because they are what you call “Label Buddhists” as I am sure there are those like that too in other religions too including among Muslims.
@Mr. Anver Manatunga – I have no animosity towards Arabs or people from other religions. I have helped all of them in many ways. I told you what actually happened. There were about 150 Arabs in our university and all of them did those things that I have mentioned above and yet does the ramasan fast and going to mecca and all those things. Certainly the Muslims from Sri Lanka were much better than those Arabs comparatively.
I know what you are saying is true. That Sri Lanka is more corrupted than Arabian countries. But this is not because there is a problem in Buddhism , it is because there is a problem in the people and their distancing from Buddhism.
Arab countries are governed according to sharia law isn’t it?? It’s a iron clad law and punishment’s given out at once. I do not know if there is a sharia law for Muslims in Sri Lanka, but there are iron clad rules to follow if you are a Muslim isn’t it??? unlike Buddhism where there are no iron clad rules to follow only rules to follow on your discretion.
It is human nature to wanting to break hard and fast rules. Break the shackles so as to speak. When humans are kept under control by bonds from iron clad rules there will come a time when these humans start thinking about breaking free. This is specially true if those people have not learnt mind control, have not understood what the mind is. Therefore those who crave to break free of these bonds will do so when an opportunity presents itself. I believe it is this same thing which has happened with those Arabs in my university.
eg;- This was told by a person I know personally who has been working in Saudi for a long time. The bosses of his company who are all Arab Muslims takes a short leave, about a week,[under the guise of a business trip) every year or so. (They all follow Muslim religious customs well while they are in Saudi) They go to a nearby country who has less restrictions (like Baharain) or a distant European country. They take care to take with them only those they trust and no family members.
They then indulge in drinking (sometimes binge drinking), prostitution and so forth. They take many precautions in that their family members doesn’t get wind of it. Therefore nobody mistrusts them.
The person I know of became a trustworthy fellow of their company because of his longtime hard working service. And also because he was no stranger to drinking they took him along with them in several such expeditions , after threatening him about speaking about what really happened to anyone in Saudi. (this person revealed about this only after he retired and came back to Sri Lanka).
He had asked his bosses why they do this sort of thing while presenting a respectful face in their country. They had answered that because of the strict rules in their country they cannot enjoy life even though they had money. And because of all these rules they feel they have to break free time after time. And as they can’t do so in their country and because they have to maintain their status in their country they go out of the country and do what they want discretely. They have told him that it is not only them but many Saudi’s does the same thing (especially men) discretely.
I have written above not to show that Muslims drink alcohol more than Buddhists (In fact I believe when you take Sri Lanka a much higher percentage of Buddhists are alcoholics when compared to Muslims). But my objective was to show you that without mind development and understanding how the mind behaves no matter how many rules and regulations you have the mind craves a path to freely roam and by that pushes people to do things at least discretely.
That is why Lord Buddha has said the most important thing is controlling your mind and understanding the way it behaves. The mind travels faster than light and no amount of rules you are under in the physical world will slow it down unless you understand what it is. No god can control the wandering of the mind , only you can do it yourself through recognition, understanding and training.
