අන්වර් මනතුංග face book ආදා සිට ආගම්බේධ වාදය පතුරවන්නන්ට අපල කාලයක් උදා වුණි. කාලයක් අන්තර්ජාල වීරයින් සේ සිටි ඔවුන් ජාතිවාදී සහ ආගම් වාදීන් ලෙස සමාජයේ පට්ට ගැසී හමාරයි. මේ නිසා දැන් සමහරුන්ගේ දතකට පූට්ටු වෙලා අනේ අපි ජාතිවාදීන් නොවන බව ඒ ගොල්ලන්ම කටින් කියනවා. මේ අතරේ සමහරු අළුත් අළුත් දේවල් අත්හදා බලන්නත් පටන් අරන්. ඒ තමයි තව කෙනෙක්ගේ පානෙන් එළිය බලා ගැනීමට උත්සාහ දැරීමයි.

ඊට ප්රතිචාර දක්වමින් ආරක්ෂක ලේකම්වරයා කියා සිටියේ යුද්ධයට පෙරාතුව උතුරේ සේවය කරනු ලැබුවේ සිංහල නිළධාරීන් බවයි.
එසේම දකුණේ දිස්ත්රීක්ක බොහොමයක ද්රවිඩ ජාතික නිළධාරීන් සේවය කරන බවත්,සිංහල හා මුස්ලිම් ජාතික පිරිස් වලටත් උතුරේ සේවය කිරීමට ඉඩ තිබිය යුතු බව හා උතුරද ශ්රි ලංකාවේම කොටසක් බවත් ගෝඨාභය රාජපක්ෂ මහතා සඳහන් කරයි.
යුද්ධයේදී සිවිල් වැසියන් බොහෝ පිරිසක් මිය ගිය බවට එල්ලවී ඇති චෝදනා ප්රතික්ෂේප කරමින් ඒ “සිවිල් වැසියන් සුළු පිරිසකුත් එල්.ටී.ටී.ඊ කැරලිකරුවන් අති බහුතරයකුත්” බව හෙතෙම පවසා ඇත.

The Asian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) has received information that PG Amila Tharanga Thilakaratne (14) a Year 9 student of Mahanama College Geatambe in the Kandy District was severely tortured by his teacher, a Buddhist monk. Amila was persecuted on a religious basis and is thus a victim of religious intolerance. Amila has been raised Catholic, but attends a school in a predominantly Buddhist area, where the majority of students are practicing Buddhists. Amila was questioned by the Venerable Rahula Thero on Buddhist history, and when he told him that he followed the Christian faith, the monk beat him severely. He was admitted to the Kandy Teaching Hospital to receive treatment for his injuries, and is currently recovering in Ward 18 of the hospital. Corporal punishment is banned in all schools, remand centers and prisons in Sri Lanka. This act of brutality is a gross violation of Amila Thilakaratne’s human rights.

According to information that the Asian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) has received, PG Amila Tharanga Thilakaratne (14) a Year 9 student attending Mahanama College Geatambe in the Kandy District was tortured by his teacher, who is also a Buddhist monk, because he professed a belief in the Christian faith. His permanent address is: No: 28/1, Sarasavigama Mahakande, Hindagala, Kandy.
Amila Tharanga has five older brothers and one younger sister. His father is a mason working in building construction, and his mother is a homemaker. Amila Tharanga has been attending Mahanama College Kandy since Year One; his brothers have attended the same school. Mahanama College Kandy is a Buddhist school, and only Buddhism is taught in the school.
Although the state education department has ruled that children of faiths other than the predominant religion should have the right to learn their own religious teachings, abide by the codes of their religious practices and sit for school exams (circular 2009/10), these rights are often not respected and religious minorities, such as Catholics and Christians, are forced to learn Buddhism. Amila Tharanga and his older brother, Gashan, are discriminated against at school because they are not Buddhist.
On 11 June 2012, a Buddhist monk named Rahula Thero came to Amila’s class to teach Buddhism. Since Amila was the only non-Buddhist student in the class, he moved to the back row for the duration of the lesson. However, the monk has forced him to sit in the front row and asked him to recite the names of the Buddha’s parents. Amila replied that he is a Catholic. The monk told him that he should learn Buddhist teachings even though he is a Catholic, and severely assaulted Amila until the young boy was bleeding from his left ear. Rahula Thero and another teacher, Mrs Kokila, told Amila not to tell anyone about the assault.
For the rest of the day, Amila had to bear the pain without recourse to medical treatment. When Amila’s brother Gashan heard about the assault, he went to his brother’s classroom, but Mr. Thero saw Gashan and threatened to beat him if he entered the room.
After school, Amila went home and went to sleep for fear of informing anyone about the brutal assault. He began to vomit at around 7pm, and he told his father, P.G. Thilakaratne what had happened at school. The next morning, Amila’s father took his son to hospital. According to Mr. Thilakaratne, Mr. Thero threatened them with violence if they revealed what had happened to higher authorities.
Amila was placed in Ward 10 of the hospital. The next day, he was transferred to Ward 18. The officers at the hospital’s police post obtained a statement from Amila on June 13. Amila’s father, Mr. Thilakaratne filed a complaint with the Kandy Police (WCIB 1/84/16,) but so far, no investigation has been initiated.
Mr. Thilakaratne fears that his complaint will go unheard in a country in which Buddhist monks enjoy impunity for violent actions. He worries that Amila will not be able to regain his hearing, and will be expelled from his school for reporting the incident to the police. Mr. Thilakaratne seeks justice and redress for the violation of his child’s right to practice the religious faith of his choice. He seeks protection for his son and for witnesses of the crime by the state

Mahanama College, Kandy was formally a Christian School with the name St. Joseph’s College, Gatambe. Similarly Sri Sumangala College Kandy, was a Christian school named St. Paul’s College. Both of these Christian schools were forcibly “Converted” to become Buddhist schools teaching only Buddhism by Buddhist extremists. The only schools in Kandy that have Christian origin that have not been touched by the racist Buddhist mafia are St. Anthony’s College (Boys and Girls), Trinity College and Good Shepherd Convent Kandy, that is cause these schools have strong Old Boys/Girls Association and have influential people in their alumni.
These groups on facebook are no Buddhist groups, they are Sinhala Buddhist Nationalist Racist groups, they have not even a jot of Buddhism in them!

Don’t speak bullshit men, my school was St. Anthony’s girls College Kandy. As it still named under christian saint, i must proudly tell you now it is a 100% Buddhist school. As probably everyone can see the TNA and the SLMC party’s behavior these past few years have not exactly been without an inclination towards extremism. The things they do and say show that they have shown an unfortunate tendency towards extremism.
Both these party’s speak out for their respective races, Tamils and Muslims. Which is totally acceptable. I do not contest that right. But what I see is if someone speaks out for the Sinhala Buddhist’s then everyone starts shouting “Jathivadaya awussanawa” / “sulu jathin ge aithiwasikam udura gannawa” etc.
How can speaking out for your people (Sinhala Buddhist) can be “Jathivadaya”???
What “aithiwasikam” are taken away if you speak for your people????
These 2 party’s (there are others but these 2 are main) always say that their people face specific problems ["damila wasiyange gatalu" & "muslims wasiyange gatalu"] – I would like to know what are these specific problems they face that are not faced by Sinhala Buddhists and Catholics/Christians ??????

I assume you are talking about the “Jathika hela urumaya”. While I don’t wholeheartedly condone what they are doing or what they are not doing I haven’t seen them attacking other religions out of malice with no reason. They have spoken out for Buddhism,Sinhala Buddhists,Buddhist history and historical sites & relics. Why is that wrong??? Why is it wrong to point out wrongdoing by people of other religions towards Buddhism and associated instances????
Muslims speak out for their rights if they feel other religions has wronged them, and so does Tamils (Hindu’s) & Christian/Catholics. No one sees that as a wrong thing. They are well within their rights and it is perfectly acceptable thing to do.
But always it seems everyone has a problem when someone speaks out for the rights of Sinhala Buddhists. Does the Sinhala Buddhists has no right at all???????
When Ven.Gangodawila Soma thero spoke out for the rights of the Sinhala Buddhists everyone ridiculed him, the government and media held a campaign against the thero. But what happened in the end??? Everyone accepted that he was speaking the truth.

It is important to understand that in some countries, with well under 100% Muslim populations, such as France, the minority Muslim populations live in ghettos, within which they are 100% Muslim, and within which they live by Sharia Law. The national police do not even enter these ghettos. There are no national courts, nor schools, nor non-Muslim religious facilities. In such situations, Muslims do not integrate into the community at large. The children attend madrasses. They learn only the Koran. To even associate with an infidel is a crime punishable with death. Therefore, in some areas of certain nations, Muslim Imams and extremists exercise more power than the national average would indicate.
Today’s 1.5 billion Muslims make up 22% of the world’s population. But their birth rates dwarf the birth rates of Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, Jews, and all other believers. Muslims will exceed 50% of the world’s population by the end of this century.
